Yesterday, the WNL season kicked off, with the Galway Women facing a tough loss to Cork City at home in Eamonn Deacy Park. The women created chances, but were unfortunately not able to convert those chances into points. The goals for Cork City were scored in the second half by Savannah McCarthy, and Saoirse Noon (from a penalty shot). The final score for the match was 2-0 for Cork City FC.
The women are looking to train hard this week, and get their first win next weekend. Galway WFC is on the road, playing UDC Waves on Sunday at 2pm.
