Fundraising Breakfast with Roy Keane in Lough Rea Hotel & Spa on June 8th at 7:30am.

Ireland’s Assistant Manager, Roy Keane, will be the guest speaker at a breakfast fundraiser for the Galway WFC in early June. The breakfast will take place in the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa on Friday, June 8th and will begin at 7:30am sharp. In his 18-year-long playing career, Roy Keane played for Cobh Ramblers, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United before ending his career at Celtic. He represented the Republic of Ireland over a period of 14 years, most of which he spent as captain. He was captain at Manchester United from 1997 until his departure in 2005. He played for some of the games top managers including Brian Clough and Alex Ferguson.

The theme of the event is ‘The Secret to Success’ and will focus on the challenges Roy faced throughout his career and how he dealt with them.

The proceeds from the event will go to Galway WFC. Galway WFC is the senior women's football club in the region playing in the Continental Tyres Women's National League. The club was formed with the aim of bringing elite women's football to Galway. The team has contributed several players to the national team and are sponsored by the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa.

A donation from the event will be given to the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and tables are available to purchase by contacting the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa at 091 880088.
